Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir (Pinot)

5.00 stars, based on 1 reviews
The origin of Kings Mountain Pinot Noir is Clone #13 vines from the Louis Martini Vineyards, one of the oldest Pinot Noir clones in California. These vines produce a complex wine with a rich ruby color and an earthy nature, expressing the terroir, typical of the clone. Fruit aromas of dark cherry, guava and cocoa are typical of this Burgundy style Pinot Noir. The oak tannins are in balance with the fruit acidity and flavor, yielding a Pinot Noir with depth and concentration, yet still retaining a soft style. In 2009 we grafted our vineyard to grow exclusively pinot noir grapes. In 2011, we added Clone 667 to our award winning Clone 13, creating BACCHUS™, a Pinot blend fit for the god of wine.

Power. Clarity. Profound fruit layers, but always controlled.

We love powerful, well-built wines. Left bank Bordeaux, Mendoza malbec, Darioush, Cain, Vin Perdu. When it comes to Pinot, KMV blows it out - this is my favorite Santa Cruz Mountain wine. We've enjoyed verticals multiple times, from 2002 to 2011 vintage, and every wine tells a story.
