Pinot Noir

Clone 13

The heart of Kings Mountain Pinot Noir is Clone #13, derived from the vineyards of Louis Martini. Believed to have originated from cuttings transported from Burgundy, Martini is one of the oldest Pinot Noir clones in California. In homage to its Burgundian roots, the Clone 13 label depicts the beautiful 1920’s Chateau-like theater that graces our estate property.

Pinot Noir

Bacchus

In 2011, we grafted some of the Clone 13 to Clone 667, to add more bright ripe fruit. We call the blend of the two, Bacchus, a California-style wine fit for the god of wine himself, whose countenance graces the label. A statue of Bacchus stands near the lion cage: but that’s another story.

Bordeaux Style Blend

Meritage

A Bordeaux style blend, molded after the great wines of France. The blend consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. These vines yield firm yet supple tannins and undertones of French oak, leading to a rich finish.
